Spring Villanele (Chizzle Blizzle Blossom)

Hanging with you is so hashtag profound
Below these ephemeral untweetable flowers
The chizzle blizzle blossom. They fall to the ground.

They fall into that sunspot where we found
The tinkling bell and Seb’s outlandish bower
Srsly, that spot was so hashtag profound.

I wished that I could favourite every sound
And retweet all the forte of our laughter
But chizzle blizzle blossom. They fall to the ground.

They fall to the ground, to the cosmos bound
As we have but this moment to devour!
Now tell me that line isn’t hashtag profound…

For Spring is already in its sunset drowned
Seasons must be written in 140 hours (or fewer)
The chizzle blizzle blossom. They fall to the ground.

Night falls too – the case-sensitive noun
Who smothers all our passwords in its stars
So I’ll say it again: it’s been hashtag profound
The chizzle blizzle blossom. They fall to the ground.

N.B. ‘Chizzle blizzle’ is an idiolectic term for the Japanese cherry blossom sakura.
